The Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company presented the fabulous Twinkling Santa Parade on Saturday. We appreciated the efforts of all the participants; Shane Mellin, parade coordinator, Mrs. Bunker, Principal, Mount Airy Elementary, Mr. Robbins, Vice Principal, Parr’s Ridge Elementary, Junior Grand Marshal Makayla Lowery, Skyview Gymnastics, Parents At Home, Knill’s Farm Market, Cub Scout Pack 1191, Little Sparkie Electric, The Greene Turtle, the Harmony Cornet Band, Capital Grounds Landscape and Snow Removal, Mt. Airy Daycare and Learning Center, Patapsco Bike and Sport, Damascus FFA, Brownie Troop 5004, On the Town Limousines, Century Ford, Frosty, The Mount Airy Mayor and Town Council, and Santa on a Giant Fire Truck!
Calvary United Methodist Church spearheaded the luminaries along South Main Street on Sunday. The weekend’s successful events are due to the donations of time and talent from the following; Mount Airy Civil Air Patrol, Browning Reagle Insurance Agency for hosting Mr. and Mrs. Santa Clause, Laurienzo Brick Oven Café, Knill’s Farm Market, Barbara May and Celebree Learning Center, the 4 County Lions Club, Mike Leroi, the Animal Health Center, Catonsville Homes, Damascus Community Bank, Dr. David Hasson, Health Unlimited, New Windsor State Bank, Rogers Engraving and Stamps, Mr. and Mrs. Santa Clause, The Main Event, the Pat Ellis Family, and Dr. Guy Cappuccino. MAMSA also thanks the downtown businesses for their participation in the Shop, Sip and Stroll event.
Homes and businesses facing the entire length of Main Street are encouraged to decorate for the holidays. The Mount Airy Business Women in Motion will judge the decorations during that weekend.
The Mount Airy Main Street Association is a non-profit group of citizens and local business owners, dedicated to promoting and beautifying the historic downtown.
