BOOTCAMP 21771 |
Bootcamp 21771 originated based on the need for a local group fitness program that emphasized both an improved social and physical lifestyle. Founders Mary Beth Ruch and Gina Campanile began the program as a volunteer ministry at Calvary United Methodist Church and all fees were donated to Calvary’s outreach for families in need. They have created a fun and social environment which leads members to achieve a healthier lifestyle through accountability and camaraderie. “You Belong Here“, is their slogan.
Bootcamp 21771 offers group fitness, nutrition and transformation challenges offered one-on-one and in group environments, and provides ongoing opportunities for participants to make friends and connect with others in the community. Bootcampers are challenged through a combination of cardio, core, flexibility and resistance training with modifications offered based on different fitness levels and abilities. The running program, 2177Run, offers training for various distances starting from 5Ks to Marathons, and is a community of runners with various experiences and paces, accomplishing goals that most participants find difficult to achieve independently.
Giving back to the community is a priority to the founders as well as the fitness “tribe”. They give annually to Operation Gratitude, an organization that provides care packages to servicemen overseas. Bootcamp 21771 also hosts an annual 5K that benefits the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research where the business has been able to donate over $8,000.00 to the cause.
Mary Beth and Gina demonstrate their commitment to social fitness by volunteering and sponsoring local charitable 5K’s including Ava’s 5K For Down Syndrome, Mt. Airy Mutt Run, Mt. Airy Turkey Trot and Galatians 6:2. They also assist local food drives to support Mount Airy NET, a nonprofit for local families in need.
To reach more of the community, Bootcamp 21771 is pleased to announce it is open for business at 401 Center Street in Mount Airy. A Grand Opening Celebration will take place October 27, 2018 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. www.Bootcamp21771.com.
